When the Pinterest app crashes or does not open, it creates problems in discovering and saving cool things (pins) to your profile. Sometimes it may even get troublesome to open or log in as the Pinterest app freezes and refuses to launch when you tap on it. Most of the time, a simple force quit of the app or device restart fixes the problem. But if Pinterest continues to crash or not work at all, here are some tricks to troubleshoot the problematic app!
The Pinterest app will follow your device’s settings if you have battery saver on. If you’re on Android OS 9 and older: Swipe down from the top of your device's screen; Tap Battery Saver; If you’re on Android OS 10 and newer: Go to your device’s Settings; Tap Display; Turn off Dark Theme; Turn dark mode on from the Pinterest app. Pinterest is a simple way to collect and share the photos you like. The official Mac app by Pinterest, Inc has not been released yet, so if you are not satisfied with the browser extensions and would rather have a full-featured app to use Pinterest on Mac, consider trying one of the apps our editors found. Pinterest has teamed up with Apple to allow app pinning on Pinterest boards as a means of app discovery. Apple led the charge earlier in February with a set of boards showing off Fashion Week apps. I prefer Pinterest as a meal planning app for its aesthetics and image quality. Evernote has a ton of other features including the ability to store photos and audio, an AWESOME search tool that will find any word within the document (and even words within a photo!), and the ability to set reminders.

Update the Pinterest App
Pinterest Button For Mac
Another handy solution for Pinterest app won’t open is to update the app. To do so, press on the App Store icon and tap on Updates. After that, tap on UPDATE next to the Pinterest app. Once the process completes, the service may work smoothly for you.
Pinterest App For Macbook Air
Note: Sometimes, downloading the latest version may itself have bugs. For example, the latest app version 8.24 (as of 10th July 2020) is crashing abruptly on my iPhone X, running the latest iOS 13.5.1 The same happens on an iPhone running the beta version of iOS 14. In such a situation, waiting for the developer to release a fix, is a possible solution.
Update: The most recent app crashing was due to problems in Facebook’s login SDK. It was happening even if you did not use Facebook to log in to Pinterest or had the FB app on your iPhone. Due to this, not only Pinterest but Spotify, Tinder, and other apps were crashing as well. It has been addressed now.
Delete the App and Reinstall It Again
If the Pinterest app is still embroiled with the issue and freezes or crashes out time and again, I recommend you delete the app and reinstall it.
Turn off Background App Refresh
Even if you close any app, it continues to refresh in the background to ensure it remains live and kicking all the time. Turning off background app can help you fix this problem.
Open the Settings app on your device → General → Background App Refresh.
Now, tap on Background App Refresh and choose Off.
Disabling this feature can also help extend the battery life of your device and reduce the data consumption.
Disable Location Services
Try turning off Location Services as well. It’s yet another power-hungry feature that puts a lot of pressure on the battery. The constant location tracking is certainly not good for the health of your device. Hence, putting it off might do the trick in getting rid of ‘can’t log in to Pinterest’ problem.
To do this: Open the Settings app → Privacy → Location Services → Turn off the toggle.
Note: Locations Services are essential for many useful apps like Uber, the weather, etc. So, once your Pinterest starts working, follow the same steps to re-enable location services.
